3D Printed House
Our team was proud to be part of this groundbreaking project – a three-bedroom, two-bathroom show home featuring curved 3D-printed concrete walls and a large-scale printed retaining wall.
Working with ribbed concrete panels presented its own set of challenges, including surface-mounting pipework and grinding flush for mixers to achieve a seamless finish. Installing the hot water cylinder at second fix demanded precision and teamwork in an exceptionally tight space.
We also fabricated and installed plastic backed fixing nogs to concrete behind aluminium panels for all fixtures – ensuring long-term durability and compliance.
From navigating curved wall measurements to integrating plumbing into unconventional geometry, every step required problem-solving and craftsmanship that pushed traditional building boundaries.

Hopuhopu Maintenance Building
Plumbing & Gas Works was engaged to deliver the complete plumbing installation for the Hopuhopu Maintenance and Ablutions Buildings, in collaboration with Waikato-Tainui and project partners.
Our scope covered all aspects of the plumbing works — including underground drainage and water reticulation, hot and cold water systems, sanitary plumbing, and fixture fit-offs. We also managed mains service connections, and full system testing and commissioning to ensure compliance with NZ Building Code standards and project specifications. Through close coordination with Waikato-Tainui and other trades, Plumbing & Gas Works delivered a durable, high-performing plumbing system designed to support the long-term functionality and sustainability of these facilities.

APL Glass Manufacturing
Starting in 2019, APL Hautapu is an award winning, industrial facility of approximately 50,000sqm. Purpose-built to house a state-of-the-art glass manufacturing plant. This project achieved a 5-star Greenstar industrial design rating. With the first phase being completed in 2021, the final fit out of Office C was completed in 2025.
PGW has recently completed the last office block after a lot of thought and design by the owners as what the office block would be turned into. A large cafe is housed inside the office blocks ground floor which is operated by Montana Catering.
PGW was also involved in the installation of a lot of the process machinery housed inside the operating warehouse, including and not limited to, glass cutting machinery, a hardware treatment process plant and a powder coating facility. This required PGW to be involved in the relocation of some machinery from the APL Pukete site to the new Hautapu site, as well as the installation design of the new machinery.

Waikato Regional Renal Centre
Purpose-bult facility for renal patients in the grounds of the Waikato Hospital. A Greenstar rated 5 project fitted out with the latest clinical technology and equipment. Also, the largest integrated renal service building in Australasia.
The entire underfloor waste system and midfloor waste system was Electrofusion Welded HDPE pipework with only the final trap connection in Polypropylene / chrome traps. The potable & non- potable water supply system was brazed copper, a rarity in today’s climate, with pipework sizes of up to 65mm.
Three separate plant rooms were built. An outdoor plant room, housing two water tanks to feed the water requirements to the building, and two indoor plant rooms comprising of the hot water reticulation system, non-potable supply for the toilets and pumps for the distribution of the potable & non-potable water supplies.
The project was built on a tight time frame from the get-go with PGW yet again delivering to a high standard and on time.

Residential Renovations -
Outdated to Outstanding
Before the renovation, this bathroom was showing its age – tight, outdated, and purely functional. The compact corner shower and worn vinyl flooring had seen better days, while the old vanity and fittings offered little in the way of style or efficiency. Our team was engaged to carry out the full plumbing upgrade as part of the client’s vision to modernise the space and improve layout, functionality, and flow.
After completion, the transformation speaks for itself. We installed all-new plumbing to service a spacious walk-in shower, freestanding bath, and contemporary vanity unit – all finished with high-quality tapware and concealed pipework to maintain clean lines. The updated layout not only improves usability but showcases a polished, high-end aesthetic that complements the home’s character.
Another solid result from the Plumbing and Gas Works team: practical, precise, and built to last.
